 About Fairport

Fairport is an Australian based company developing quality software predominantly for the agricultural and horticultural industries.

With regard to agriculture, it is our belief that the farmers of today are becoming more sophisticated and technologically advanced. World and domestic markets are demanding quality assured products. Costs of production are increasing. Marketing produce is becoming more and more challenging. Managing a modern farming enterprise requires new approaches...

And therefore...  Fairport strives to become a business partner of today's and tomorrow's farmers by providing them the software tools to monitor and map their production. To this end, we work closely with many industry leaders within Australia and internationally (people involved with agriculture, horticulture, precision farming, large and small scale cropping and livestock enterprises) and are greatly indebted to a vast number of them for our standing in the market

Fairport is a Western Australian owned and operated company was formed back in 1988 by Roger Wiese (a 5th generation farmer) to develop and distribute production recording and planning software for the agricultural and horticultural industries.

PAM was first released in March 1989 and has become the "Standard" for paddock and livestock histories recording in Australia. Now the PAM suite of software products are are used throughout Australia and internationally.

At "The Australian" Farm Software Competition in March 1998, Fairport Technologies was awarded 1st place in the Production Applications Category for the third time and the Fujitsu Award for Technical Excellence in Production Recording Software for the second time. In addition to these two prestigious awards, Fairport won "The Australian" Overseas Travel Award - an overseas trip to the value of $5000.  All of these prizes were awarded for PAM 2000+.

And... once again at the 1999 "The Australian" Farm Software Competition PAM 2000+ outclassed all products of its type.

Winners of the coveted Fujitsu Award for Technical Excellence in Production Recording Software in 1994 and 1998.

1st prize awarded in the Production Recording Software section of "The Australian" Farm Software Competition in 1992, 1994 and 1998 with PAM.

 The Fairport Team

Roger Wiese
CEO, Managing Director

In 1988 Roger made a career move from farming to software developer when he founded Fairport Technologies. Roger operated the company as a one man band until 1992 when the workload overwhelmed him and the company's growth demanded a bigger workforce. Roger's skills, leadership & determination have grown the company to be the supplier of the most popular Agricultural software in Australia and a highly respected software development consultancy.
Roger stills dabbles in software development, but growing the business and overseeing the direction of the software development process are his greatest passions.
